| So it's been a little while since my last entry. I know I promised to talk about the David Crowder concert, and I will...so here goes; it was amazing! It was technically a Third Day concert with the David Crowder Band opening for them, but David Crowder blew Third Day out of the water in my opinion. Third Day should have opened for them! One of the best parts was before the concert while we ate dinner at the Charleston Town Center. While we were deciding on where to eat at the food court, we happened to scan the tables to see if we needed to have someone save us a seat. While we were looking for a table we happened to see (well Joey happened to see them because I don't think I would've known who they were) some band members from the David Crowder band enjoying some Chick-Fil-A. David wasn't with them, but it was still pretty cool. We sat down next to them and asked if we could get a picture. They obliged to our request and....

That is Trey, Ashlee, myself, and Joey with some band members from the David Crowder Band!! Another cool and pretty ironic thing about the concert was that we got to sit with Lee and Carmen and their parents. The ironic thing about that was that we didn't even plan it. Their seats ended up being in the row in front of ours. Needless to say, that night was a lot of fun.
I got to spend two great days in Barboursville this week because Joey was at minister's camp at Parchment Valley. On Monday evening I went to watch a Pea Ridge Baptist Church (my home church) softball game. I thought I was just going to watch my dad and brother play along with Matt Ash and some others, but J.P. ended up playing as well as a bunch of guys from Pea Ridge that I hadn't seen in a long time. Being at that field watching a church softball game brought back so many memories. I also got to meet Mary Beth, a girl who is my brother's friend (haha) from Teay's Valley. On Tuesday I hung out with my brother for most of the day, and then went and had some yummy Mexican food for dinner with my LeeAnn. After that we went back to my parent's house and watched American Idol, where we saw an amazing performance by Taylor Hicks!! I am thinking that he is now my pick to win this year.
I didn't go home until Wednesday afternoon. I loved getting to spend all that time with my family. They make me smile.
This is a picture of us from Easter. I think it is my favorite picture I have of my whole family because we all look genuinely happy...and we were!
*Edit: This is no longer a picture of my whole family. As of today (May 5th) my sister and J.P. are engaged!!! For awhile I've considered him as part of the family anyway, but now it is official!! Congratulations you two!! Here is a picture of the happy couple on Kait's birthday last year:
Soon to be Mr. and Mrs!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend. My weekend is looking to be promising. Hopefully I will have some pictures to share from it.
| I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter weekend! My weekend was interesting to say the least. Here we go:
Saturday
I woke up on Saturday and got ready to go to Barboursville to get my hair cut. Joey decided that he would go with me, and then we decided after I got my hair cut we would go and see his family in Glasgow. We had a nice evening hiding Easter eggs for our nieces and nephew, and we got to spend some time with the grown-ups as well.
On Saturday evening we went over to Joey's friend Timmy's parents' house to watch a UFC fight on pay-per-view. Joey and Timmy both have a love for mixed martial arts, and I think by default Timmy's girlfriend Ally and myself like it as well. So we got to see some really good match-ups.
We didn't leave Timmy's house to go back home until after 11 that night. It takes about an hour and a half to drive between Glasgow and Point, so we knew that it was going to be a late night for us. I especially knew that I was going to be up for awhile longer after we got home because I still needed to make a casserole to take to my grandparents' house for Easter the next day; not to mention still needing to go to the grocery store to get what I needed. Our grocery store in town had already closed once we got back into town, so we had to drag ourselves across the river to good ol' Wal-Mart.
We didn't get back to our house until 2 AM, and when we walked into the house we were greeted by a very strong smell of GAS!!! I started getting nervous and opened a bunch of windows to air the house out and Joey immediately called our gas company to report the smell. Not only did we have this smell in our home but about half of our town did as well, so they were sending to their workers to each home to check and make sure it wasn't a gas leak. I think knowing that we weren't the only people with this problem made me feel a little better, but we knew that since there were so many people who needed to be checked, we wouldn't be seeing the inspectors until very late-or I guess early that morning. I put the casserole together and got ready for bed, and convinced Joey that we would hear the gas people knock on the door. We didn't get to bed until after 3, and I don't think I slept until between 4 and 5 because I kept trying to remember the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and freaked myself out because I thought I was nauseous with a fever! The workers came at about 8 in the morning on Easter, and checked our house and everything was o.k.! What had happened was the machine at the company that makes odorless gas have a smell so you know when you have a leak put way too much smell into the gas, and everyone's gas pilot light was producing the strong odor. It was such a relief to know that we weren't poisoned! Dad told me the next day that a big clue that the smell wasn't dangerous was that the cats were still alive. Scary but true!
Sunday
Needless to say, waking up and staying awake on Easter was difficult, but once we got moving it was o.k. We had a very nice church service celebrating Jesus' resurrection, and we had a great time spending the day with my family. We had such a good time but we had to leave early to get back to church. So today I am going back to spend more time with my brother before he goes back and I am going to spend the night since Joey is in school this week.
In my next post I will write about the David Crowder Band concert last week!! It was awesome.

| Here are some pictures of me and my beautiful friends. Most of them were taken at my best friend LeeAnn's apartment a few weeks ago when we went over there to watch American Idol, and the other one is from Junior High Convention. Hope you enjoy:

This is me and my lovely LeeAnn during a commercial break from the show.

I finally figured out how to use the self-timer thingy on my camera, so I had to use it for a group picture. It looks like I am just a floating head behind Kim, Kait, and LeeAnn.

Let me explain: Kim, Kait, and I all had the same cell phone. So every time one of our phones would get ready to ring, LeeAnn's t.v. would do this weird buzzing thing, and then we would know that one of our phones would be getting a call soon. We decided we would take a picture of what it was like whenever that happened. Interesting, huh?

This is my best friend Liz and me at Junior High Convention. We hardly get to see each other, so I was happy to get to spend a little bit of time with her that day.
So there you have it. I finally figured out what I was doing wrong every time I would try to post a picture, and hopefully I will be able to keep putting recent pictures on here.
| Well I said that my next entry was going to have pictures on it, but leave it to me to not be able to get my picture files small enough to put them on here. I will figure it all out eventually though. I am a slow learner when it comes to computer stuff.
Anyway...Not much has been going on since my last entry. Lets see...our basement flooded...that was fun! About as much fun as it is to sleep when you have a sunburn. When we first moved into our house last year we were well aware that the basement flooded from time to time, and over the year there was a bit of water here and there whenever it would rain hard outside; so we thought that was as bad as it would get, which to us wasn't really bad at all. However I knew it was not a good sign whenever I was pulling out of my driveway to go to church two Sundays ago and our next door neighbor comes running out of his house in the pouring rain to wave me down and tell me to check my basement for flooding because his was pretty getting pretty bad. I went ahead to church not really thinking much of it, but half way through the service I thought that I should probably go home and check the basement just in case it was as bad as our neighbor had made it out to be. Our whole basement floor had about two inches of standing water, which really isn't that bad compared to what it's like to have major flooding. But we were not prepared in the sense that we had boxes of stuff and Joey's drums on the floor. Needless to say, cleaning up was not much fun at all. I think I got a contact buzz from inhaling all the bleach I used to clean the floor. The smell of the bleach smelled a heck of a lot better than the flood smell though...maybe I just thought because I was a little loopy. Oh well.
I just want to say (and I know that I am going to get made fun of by certain family members) that I love Mandisa on American Idol!! Not only is she an amazing singer, she is also a Christian, and very vocal about her faith which I think is awesome! I was watching an interview on the American Idol website that she was on, and she tried to share the gospel with the guy who was interviewing her! I love her!
Joey went and recorded some music in Beckley this past Friday and Saturday, so I headed to Barboursville. It was an interesting weekend. There were good parts and bad part. The good parts were the times that I got to spend with my wonderful friends (Kim, LeeAnn, Michelle, and Erin) and my siblings (Kait, Sean, and J.P.- Kait's boyfriend so pretty much my brother). The bad parts...well lets just say that I was strongly reminded this weekend that no matter how old you are you can still be made to feel like a teenager by your parents. I honestly felt like I hadn't even moved out and gotten married, and that I was still 16 or 17 and getting in trouble. I guess your parents are always going to be your parents. That is all I am going to say about that. Sorry Sean I didn't get to spend more time with you!!! I love you my brotha!
I gave up reading magazines for Lent this year. Some of you might not think that is such a big deal, but for me it is a huge deal! I never realized how much I rely on magazines to keep me entertained until I almost reach for one at the grocery store or in the bathroom (haha) and then think, "Oh yeah, I can't read this now." That is nothing though compared to the sacrifice that Jesus made for me, so I think I can handle it.
I love macaroni and cheese, and that is all.
| Wow...I think this is the longest I have gone without updating. I honestly don't know why I haven't; probably just didn't want to make the time to sit down and type everything out on here. Today has been a lazy day because we are recuperating from a weekend with some of our kids for Junior High Convention. I must say that it was an amazing weekend. I really enjoyed spending time with our youth, and watching them worship and listen to the speaker was amazing.
So I have gotten a job...Can you believe it?? I found out over a week ago that I got it. I won't start training for it until the middle of March though. But to think that I have a job waiting for me is such a good feeling. You might be wondering where I will be working, right? It is called First American Cash Advance, and I will be a customer service rep. there. It is basically a short term loan office. It has great hours and my future boss and future co-workers seem to be so nice. I am really looking forward to start working there. I am so thankful to God for this opportunity. It has been a long road.
I have gotten to spend some time with my friends these past few weeks, and it was much needed. I will write more about it later because I have pictures I want to post with it. So for now I am going to go and get ready because Joey and I are going to run some errands. These are my favorite kind of days.
